Blade & Sword has come in for a cool reception at Gamenikki with their review scoring 5.5/10:
Old Diablo veterans will feel at home with Blade and Sword right after the plodding text intro setting the mood to ancient China, which if we are to believe the Dynasty Warrior franchise and the films of director Akira Kurosawa, never saw a minute of peace. Oddly enough, the opening echoes the conclusion of Kurosawa’s Ran very closely, except then the undead rise up and begin the rampage of the army of darkness. As loyal Shaolin warrior, your job is to take a boomstick to their heads and reclaim towns from evil.
