A fairly positive assessment of Troika's ToEE can be found at Wargamer. The lengthy review has no score but does carry a recommendation for D&D fans:Moving a masterpiece from one medium to another is never easy. With some notable exceptions, The Lord of the Rings being the most recent, many books translate poorly into movies. However, there is some precedent for games being successfully ported to the PC. Wargames were early adopters of the PC genre, though a few other board games have been successfully ported as well. The Dungeons & Dragons gaming system is another one of those which has successfully made the jump. Readers may be familiar with the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series of computer-based Dungeons & Dragons games which have been so well received in the PC-based RPG community. | Source: Sorcerer's Place |
