RPGVault has posted a new City of Heroes Design Journal, written by Lead Designer Rick Dakan, who writes about a new feature in this upcoming MMORPG:
Sure, sure, you've heard all this before right? But what does it mean to you? Well obviously it means that you play a hero and there's a city full of danger and you've got to fight said danger on a daily basis to stem the aforementioned overwhelming tide of evil. But that means more than just fighting bad guys and going on missions. It means that these bad guys can actually overrun parts of the city and make them unlivable unless the heroes do something about it.

So this is a part of the game I've never mentioned before, but since this diary is going on hiatus after this entry, I figured I'd give you a little taste of one of the more exciting features we've got planned. Paragon City is made up of a bunch of different neighborhoods. During the Rikti invasion, the city's defenders built walls to separate the neighborhoods and seal off the alien invaders within select pockets. Today, these walls remain (as do some pockets of aliens), keeping the residents of each neighborhood safe from whatever dangers might erupt in the neighboring neighborhoods.
