Xen Gamers has an interview with producer Nanaka Hiromichi about the upcoming PS/2 MMORPG. Here's something:
Dengenki: For the average player, how will Final Fantasy XI unfold?
Hiromichi-san: Players will begin by setting up a character. They will choose a race, homeland, and job. As some players will remember, the original Final Fantasy used a battle system, but this will be much different. Players can become skilled in several different professions, and switch them as they progress throughout Final Fantasy XI. Once you've setup your character, you can either join a party or begin adventuring alone. The gameplay engine supports several styles of play. For example, some areas will be open to solo players, and others require you to join a party. Another interesting aspect is the expansion of boundaries. Depending upon the actions of players, the physical world in the game can change dramatically. I'm looking forward to players experimenting with that. |
