Like any respectable fantasy MMORPG, Guild Wars has all of the basic classes you would expect. There is the brutish Warrior, the stealthy, bow-wielding Ranger, the Necromancer, commander of the undead, the arcane magic using Elementalist, the illusionist Mesmer, and the clerical Monk. When creating a character, you must choose a main class, and a secondary class. The main class determines your appearance as well as your main set of skills. The secondary class allows you to use skills from another class’s skill pool as well. When you initially create your character, the appearance settings are somewhat limited. There were several categories for editing, including height, gender, skin color, hairstyle, and hair color, but within those categories, there was not much to choose from. However, once you are in the game that is where the real customization comes into play.
