There is an interview with Piotr Krzywonosiuk from the Gamestudio Tannhauser Gate about their upcoming MMORPG Mimesis Online. This snip is about how much RP is in MMORPG for this game:

    MYSTICS:
Can you tell us something about the attributes of the characters? Are there any? As far as I can remember, I found a lot of information about skills, but only vague information about the fact that there could be some other stats. What influence will they have on the skills?

    PIOTR KRZYWONOSIUK:
As in any RPG, the characters have a set of attributes that define how physically and mentally fit they are. There are also stats for things like character speed, fame, and so on. To go into a bit more detail, we have seven basic attributes defining how strong, agile, fit, perceptive, smart, willful and charismatic each character is. These are used in a broad range of calculations to determine how effectively characters use their skills, how well they can resist poison or disease, and so on. They can be developed during play. Then there’s the variable stats that define how much punishment the character can take – health, fatigue, resistances and so on. They are in use all the time, and the attributes influence them directly. There’s also a variable stat called Fame; that is a measure of how well-known the character is, and what they are well-known for – i.e. for good deeds or criminal activity. The skills are the aspect of the character that the player can really customize. The player gets to pick skills, and decides which ones to develop, and the skills a character has ultimately define what that character can do. If a character was skill-less, then the basic attributes would be used to calculate the results of actions; the skill stats and the attributes come into play when the player has a skill selection. That’s sort of a brief introduction to the set-up. It’s not too complicated for the player, but we’re really satisfied with the effects.
