PC.IGN chats to Microsoft about Windows Gaming amd some of the advances Longhorn will offer. Here's a snip from MS' Chris Donahue:Chris's message that "we're still here," might not exactly elicit an epidemic of enthusiasm but, at a show dominated by two console announcements, it's statement that assures PC gamers that Microsoft still cares about Windows gaming. Obviously, for Microsoft, this is the year of the Xbox 360 but, according to Chris, this focus on Windows gaming is apparent at even the highest levels of the company. Studies have shown that a high percentage of the time people spend in the Windows operating system is spent playing video games. Since the success of Longhorn and the success of Windows gaming are tied so closely together, we can expect the release of Longhorn to encourage a larger and louder PC gaming message at next year's E3. |
