Some games have a tendency to generate hype that is contagious and unstoppable. Even the hardened and cynical gamer can find it hard to resist for too long. I've always been sceptical about upcoming MMORPGs, having seen the hype machine fall to pieces on releases in the past. Nevertheless, World of Warcraft continues to loom on the gaming horizon, and the hype is too hard to ignore.
