Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 8/10 points |
I love this game. Although not having EVER been a BIG RPG fan... this is ONE of the best I have ever played. I'm afriad the ONLY reason I have dropped this from a perfect "10" to 8 is for me; at least anyways... a BIG game flaw and one the reviewer doesn't even mention... but Gamespot does. It is very.... Very... VERY!!! frustrating (at least for me) to go into ANY kind of combat with any enemy and NOT have a slightest CLUE what you're up against in terms of strength/powers... add on to this that there are NO "health bars" for your enemy... even after combat begins... and one often doesn't have the SLIGHTEST clue what he's up against. It completely eliminates any "strategy" aspect of the game and makes the entire experience nothing more than a "crap-shoot" everytime you try to take someone on. I've NEVER seen any other RPG that TOTALLY lacks any kind of feedback as to how you are doing in combat... or... what you're up against. It's a VERY STUPID oversight if you ask me... and almost totally ruins the game. Strangely enough... the game runs and LOOKS fine on my system... and ALL I have is a 1.1Ghz Celeron; 384 megs of PC-100 RAM, and a 32 MB ATI AIW Radeon (original) video card... go figure. |
