eToychest has posted their 'Fable' preview based on the GDC presentation:Molyneux sums up the plot of Fable in one short line, “You are a hero.” Starting out as a young boy, you explore and fight through the land as you choose. Your character will age and change according to how you play the game. Instead of forcing players to choose a class at the outset, the game adjusts the character based on play style. Those who fight toe-to-toe in melee combat will see their character grow large and strong. Those who rely on magic will have their arcane powers increase. There’s no set-leveling path, instead relying on a Morrowind-like system of “use-and-get-better”. Your characters alignment and appearance will also change depending on the choices you make in the game. Return a little girls teddy bear and you’ll be considered a kind soul, but choose to sell the toy and you’ll gain a nasty reputation. The article says Fable 2 is already in production - a claim that seems to be supported by an answer about the protagonist in Fable 2: "I asked about the possibility of a female character, but the response I got seemed to indicate that they were set on a male hero, possibly related to the same character you play in Fable." Yes, yes, interesting stuff...what about the PC version? |
