Gaming Horizon has posted up a hands-on preview (based on beta testing) of EGenesis' upcoming MMORPG 'A Tale in the Desert'.
Here's a clip:But there are a few games that plan to break the mold, one of which is A Tale in the Desert, being developed by eGenesis. What makes A Tale in the Desert (I will now refer to it as ATITD) different? I will let the website explain:
It's a radically different massively multiplayer role-playing game. It contains no combat: no monsters, no player-killers, no swords or armor. Your character advances by completing, participating in, or leading large projects.
That’s right, no combat. I know, I asked myself the same question: “So then what do you actually do?” Well I set out to uncover the game’s secret by entering the public beta test. Just like anyone else can, I downloaded the game client and logged on. The servers are up all the time, but no progress will be saved except during official sessions, which they announce in their newsletter and on their website. I only managed to get on during one of the unsaved dev sessions, without really knowing it, but recorded my experience anyway. |
