On this page you'll find a short introduction to the different cheating mechanisms implemented into Gothic. If you aren't familiar with them you should take the time and familiarise yourself with them.
Marvin Mode
Gothic's developer mode is called 'Marvin Mode'. It is required for most cheats in this guide. You have two ways to enable it:
- Open the status screen with S or B, type 'marvin', press Esc.
- Edit the Gothic desktop icon. Change '...\gothic.exe' to '...\gothic.exe -devmode'.
Status screen cheats
Some simple cheats for godmode, full mana and so on. Type them into the status screen and press Esc.
Key cheats
Simple cheats to control NPCs, teleport through walls, change the cammera perspective, etc.
Marvin Mode is required.
The console
The console is Gothic's most powerful cheating device. You can use it to spawn every single item, NPC or monster, import/export your char, play videos, teleport to waypoints, access various editing tools, manipulate the engine and much, much more.
Some too specific commands were left out in our table. A complete list of console commands can be found in the Mod Development Kit.
Marvin Mode is required, F2 opens the console.
Character Helper
Your alter ego helps you custumize your character. Ask him for level, xp or skills.
Marvin Mode is required, type 'i CH' in the console.
Story Helper
Can change the status of important quests from 'unsolved' to 'solved'.
Marvin Mode is required, type 'i SH' in the console. |
