You've gotta love staggered releases. :/ Silent Storm has been available in some territories for a while now but others are still waiting, so Warcry has an interview with Project Leader, Dmitry Zakharov:
According to the fact sheet, there are 24 non-linear missions and randomly generated missions. Can you tell us something about these missions and the difference between the non-linear and the random missions?

Silent Storm has a non-linear plot, which means that there are 24 main missions both for Axis and Allied campaigns. Every time you play the game from the beginning, the computer makes a new random mix of these missions. This is the strategic level.

On the tactical level, each main mission acquires its own random set of scenario clues, documents, objectives, enemies and so forth. The successful accomplishment of various mission objectives gives you additional information about the whole story and opens a way to other missions that are closely connected to the clues you have found.

So, for example, you can choose whether to check suspicious activity near a new rocket lab or intercept and interrogate an enemy informer. When you play Silent Storm, you choose the mission and direction that you want to pursue.

Apart from the main missions, there are many random encounters and locations on the strategic map. These missions usually offer a short skirmish with an enemy patrol, a band of gangsters or marauders. These encounters allow your team members to hone their combat expertise before encountering tougher opponents in main missions.
