Deadalfs has reviewed Troika's 'The Temple of Elemental Evil' rating the AD&D-based fantasy RPG at 7 out of 10 points. Thanks, Shacknews.
The name flaunts ‘beardiness’ with reckless abandon, and quite rightly too, for this game treads a path few developers are brave enough to follow: a true conversion of an ancient pen and paper D&D module with an almost perfect translation of the all-new 3.5 edition rules set. And when I say ‘almost perfect’, I mean as accurate as you can possibly get within the confines of an isometric hack n’ slasher (i.e. Climb, Jump and Ride skills are still missing – maybe one day etc…). Nearly every race, class, skill, feat, combat manoeuvre and spell has made it into this game. In terms of faithfulness to the source material, it doesn’t get much better than this.
