4.6 out of 10 is what Gamehelper is giving to Pool of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor in their first impressions review as a rating. This is their conclusion in the five page article:
Even trying to separate my own high expectations from this game, I cannot give it more than a tepid review at best. I expected a game that would live up to the enjoyment of the original, break new ground, and show these Baldur’s Gate upstarts a thing or two – instead I have a limited collector’s edition of a solid disappointment that sold itself short on nearly every count that made its predecessor great. In those days, game development seemed to be about pushing beyond the limits of the gear – today, and most recently illustrated by PoR, it seems to be about reaching for mediocrity and pushing the limits of your release date. |
