EN-TRANZ ENTERTAINMENT LICENSES ASIAN RIGHTS TO
HIGHLY ANTICIPATED PC VIDEO GAME SHADOWBANE
(HONG KONG, Jan 18, 2002) Following on the heels of their recent establishment in Hong Kong, video game publisher En-Tranz Entertainment, a member company of the E1 Media Technology Limited, is excited to announce the Asian licensing rights to the highly anticipated massively multi-player game (MMOG) Shadowbane. Shadowbane is expected to launch online commercially in the first half of 2002. This highly anticipated game is being developed by WolfPack Studios, based in Austin, Texas, USA.
Speaking at a ceremony to announce the news, Harry A. Miller IV, CEO of En-Tranz Entertainment told reporters that his company would also be working closely with partners around the Asian region to develop localized versions of Shadowbane, making it more appropriate for each country and territory. Shadowbane also makes its celebrated debut as the very first MMOG title to launch Asia-wide.
Shadowbane is a massively multi-player online game set in a large, 3D, persistent and seamless world. It is the first MMOG of its kind to combine both RPG (role-playing game) and Strategy genres with its integrated system for Strategic Warfare. Shadowbane improves upon the Guild building aspects of other persistent world online games by expanding the guild concept beyond small groups of players, to allow for the formation of larger guilds into City-States, Empires, and Kingdoms. Guilds will own (and control) territory, build cities, and conduct siege warfare against each other in this dynamically and constantly changing political and territorial landscape.
These Strategy elements are an addition to its core RPG gameplay, Players can still experience elements they are used to finding in their favourite RPG games. Adventuring and exploring, collecting treasure and amassing wealth, and creature combat all play an important role within the Shadowbane world. Also, Shadowbane offers a new level of individuality in both character creation and progression not found in any other game of its type with its unique Branching Profession System, with 10 Races, 22 classes, 40 sub-classes, 70 skills, and over 200 powers to choose from.
"En-Tranz appears to have all the right ingredients for a successful startup. Not only do they have great incite into mind of the online gamer, but they also know clearly where they want to be and what it will take to get there," explains J. Todd Coleman, one of the founders of WolfPack Studios, Inc and the Vice President of Marketing. "We're especially excited to be working with Harry Miller again -- his experience in this industry is second to none." | Source: Bluesnews |
