RPGDot Game Rating Machine

Neovalis has rated the following games:

Diablo: 1/10 points

Superfluid, I couldn't have said it better. Why is this game even considered an rpg?

Diablo 2: 1/10 points

A disgrace to the crpg genre. I cut my teeth on the Wizardry series, the early Might and Magics, Wasteland, and a host of other exemplary role- playing games... years later, Blizzard passes this shallow game off as a crpg, and expects the gaming populace to accept it? Sadly, they have...

Final Fantasy VII: 1/10 points

I don't understand how anyone could pass a game like this off as an rpg.

Heroes of Might & Magic 2 - Succession Wars: 10/10 points

Heroes of Might & Magic 3 - The Restauration of Erathia: 10/10 points

Superb turn based strategy, even today.

Heroes of Might & Magic 4: 10/10 points

Beneath the bugs is a fantastic game.

Menzoberranzan: 4/10 points

Very mediocre game.

Might & Magic 1 - Secret of the Inner Sanctum: 9/10 points

Big game, tons of stuff to do, a joy to play.

Might & Magic 2 - Gates to Another World: 10/10 points

Might and Magic should have stuck to this formula. A great moment in CRPG history.

Might & Magic 3 - Isles of Terra: 8/10 points

Solid role-playing, but I seriously believe they should have stuck to the style of the first two games in the series.

Might & Magic 4 - Clouds of Xeen: 8/10 points

Solid by itself, exemplary when linked with Darkside of Xeen.

Might & Magic 5 - Darkside of Xeen: 10/10 points

World of Xeen would have been even better had it gone with the formula of the first two MMs. Still, this is one of the most engrossing games I have ever played.

Might & Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven: 7/10 points

A pale shadow of the first five games in the series, but still solid. Suffers from a lack of puzzles and unbalanced character classes (no reason to go with a seemingly good group like Knight, Paladin, Cleric, Sorceror when a party of four sorcerors owns them).

Might & Magic 9: 7/10 points

Has its moments, but seriously, the game is crippled by a bevy of bugs and poor documentation. If you're looking for the best modern crpg on the market, pass on this and go with Wizardry 8.

Ultima 8 - Pagan: 6/10 points

Two words: what happened?

Wasteland: 10/10 points

Truly incredible game. All crpg fans owe it to themselves to play it.

Wizardry 1 - Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord: 10/10 points

Simply an immortal classic.

Wizardry 4 - Return of Werdna: 10/10 points

Revolutionary. However, the game is so difficult (it wouldn't be a stretch to say "nearly impossible") that only the most die-hard crpg zealots need apply. Experience with the original Wizardry is crucial.

Wizardry 5 - Heart of the Maelstrom: 10/10 points

One of the best dungeon crawls ever designed. The Maelstrom sucked me in and hasn't let go.

Wizardry 6 - Bane of the Cosmic Forge: 10/10 points

A D.W. Bradley triumph.

Wizardry 7 - Crusader of the Dark Savant: 10/10 points

One of the great masterpieces of computer role-playing.

Wizardry 8: 10/10 points

The end of an era. Easily the best crpg in a long time. NWC should take a lesson from Sir-Tech.

Wizardry Gold: 5/10 points

This game is a shoddy Windows port of the immortal Wizardry VII. Play Wiz VII instead of this.
