WarCry has a Chronicles of Spellborn interview with Barry Hoffman in article format titled An Hour with Chronicles of Spellborn:Sure, it all starts the same way. “There’s a war between good and evil; of course, right?” Hoffman says, sarcastically. But that’s about where any similarity to conventional fantasy ends. Spellborn’s story is post-war. The battle between a slave race an its underlings was so destructive, it caused their earth-like world to shatter into eight planetoids, all suspended together within a magical ectoplasm known as “the Deathspell Storm.” From within the storm comes the Oracle, a supernatural guide that hopes to lead players to new shards of the world. But rather than just pointing the way to the future, the Oracle wants players to learn from the past. |
