At first, I found this a little disappointing. It was like I sat down to play an RPG and instead of an inventory sheet, my GM gave me a picture of myself and said you’re a superhero; you don’t need any armor or anything. Seemed like a bit of a cop out. But then again, when did you ever see Aquaman wielding a really cool +10 vorpal harpoon of holy aim? Granted, some superheroes in the pantheon have material talismans, but they tend to be historic singularities, not things they fight for and then discard when they get better ones. Wonder Woman isn’t constantly trying to craft a slightly better lasso of truth, she’s out there constantly doing good deeds with it.
