This was the best RPG of its time and for years after in my opinion. It was fun to play, yet not so easy to beat that you coule put it away in a couple days like the games coming out these days. There was a lot of subtle humor embedded within the game and all in all, it was great. Unfortunately, Sierra doesnt make games like they used to anymore. |

The remake was very good. Never played the original. It was fun. I could throw rocks at the ground and get stronger! hah. And i agree that Sierra sucks now. |

Cliched but in a time when that wasn't so bad. It did not take itself too seriously, and had much charm...a quality many games lack these days. |

Fun adventure/RPG hybrid from Sierra. You play as a thief, fighter or magic user, and there are multiple solutions to most problems. The series as a whole is also great fun. |

I loved this game when it first came out as hero's quest. The first puzzle like game to put in fighting. Many a night I lost track of time and ended up playing till the sun came up and had to go to school in 2 hours. |

I still love the original QfG1 the most of the series. No other game gives me as good nostalgic trip as this one. A true classic. Never liked the remake btw. |

My all time favorite game. I got a job to get a computer when I was thirteen just to buy it. This game is a masterpiece and the only game I'll give a ten too. I replay this game at least twice a year. If I was you I would get the hero pack that has 1-4 on it (and a remake of one). One is the hands down best out of the series and my favorite game of all time. If you dont like it I dont know what to tell you, but I can't recomend this game enough. |

The start of a cool series, which came to a bitter end with QfG 5. But the first 4 parts were all very enjoyable! |

This was the best RPG (or pseudo-rpg if you will) game I ever played. I actually played both "Hero's Quest" (the EGA version of this classic) and Quest for Glory I.
It was an extremely immersive experience, a perfect mix of many different legends and creatures, all in one. Each NPC had his personality, and the plot becomes more and more interesting as the game develops.
I'll never forget the feeling of being in the dangerous woods on my own for the first time. |

One of the great classics here. Probably also the only series to successfully combine Adventure and RPG with an emphasis on Adventure. Truely a classic. |

Definitely one of the best games of it's time. Man, Sierra was really on top of the world back then. Seems like I wouldn't hardly buy a game if it didn't say "Sierra" or "Origin" on the box. |

Quest for Glory 1, a strong adventure game, starts out very subtly and grows on to you likewise. It's a game that very often taken for granite on how interactive it was and the hoe devious the puzzles were. QfG has a very loving appeal for it's players that just shouts 'have fun'if only people would listen more often. |

An underappreciated classic, especially the upgraded Windows version. A very light game, but a nice blend of RPG and adventure elements, with some action thrown in. Its strength is its classic story-book fairy tale plot, and a sense-of-wonder attitude. |

A real classic, fun adventure that allowed you to develop your character. I had a wizard who I trained to be good with throwing knives - you could craftily wound monsters with a thrown knife before they got in close :-)
The story and subplots were all fun too - I'm sure it will seem horribly dated now but who knows, it might appear on a mobile phone one day!

If you read some of the negative comments with the low ratings, they say "cool," or "outdated," which to me makes no sense. FOR ITS TIME, this was the best Adventure/RPG made. I can't tell you how many times I replayed this game (as "Hero's Quest"), and it was still fun to challenge Erasmus for the Dazzle spell. I subsequently bought the sequels to this game but they weren't as engrossing or fun to play. |

LOVE this game. I must've played it at least 5 times and for me that's the most I ever played a game, maybe with the exception of Zelda for Snes. I play QFG1 every few years and it's still fun. The fact that you can import your character from the previous games makes it REALLY fun and makes you attached to the same character throughout the series. |

i so dearly loved the original hero's quest. for a horribly long time when i was much younger, our computer refused to load windows and was stuck in dos. the only decent programs at all were the 4 or 5 games on there - and only one worked reliably. that game was hero's quest. i played it through a dozen times and it never got old.
it really is a shame that i can't get it to work with my new computer. the remake just doesn't do it justice. |

Not only a great RPG, not only a great adventure game, this game is the only one I have seen to do both well. It may not have the most original history ever, but it is very well made and makes the player feel very immersed in the role and game world. It is a great start for a great series. |

I played this game as Hero's Quest and it is my favorite RPG that I've ever played and the one I judge all others by. It truely goes to show that good graphics don't make a good game but rather good writers. |
