What a wonderful game. In general, I usually think of Wild Tangent as a maker of little time-killer games, but this game is not at all like that. It's kind of like chess: easy to learn, a little tougher to master. The graphics are not bad at all, and the top-down view has a 4x zoom so you can get close up or see more of what is around you depending on situation. Very straight forward: rolling up a character takes very little time, really just some simple appearance issues and a name, as well as a name for your pet, and you are off. All skills are available to each player. You don't pick a profession from the start, rather, you can spread your skill points (2 per level) among 15 different abilities. these include several typical weapon categories, shield use, magic casting (which makes your spells cast faster), and 3 categories of magic use: offensive (think fireballs etc.), defensive (armor and healing, etc.) and my personal favorite: charm magic (allows you to summon various critters to do your fighting for you, among other things). The layout is really very simple. When you start a new character, you get an over-arching quest. That is your "end-goal". Of course, this goal cannot be accomplished right away. You may speak different static NPC's who will give you quests to do that eventually lead you to the level in the dungeon where your main quest is waiting for you. This may be a good time to point out that there is nothing more in this game than a town (with maybe a dozen or so NPC's) and a dungeon. The dungeon is bottomless, and randomly generated. The textures eventually get repeated, but it takes quite a while. The layouts seem to be random as well. I have only played thru maybe the first 30 or so dungeon floors myself, and rolled a new character to test this. The critters were all the same type, but the boss characters and quests were all different. The floor-plans seemed different, but after a few levels of dungeon crwawling, they all seem more or less alike any way. All I can say is that this game is FUN. Very addictive. Check this game out. For $19.95 it is really well worth it.

Mindless Fun

Much like Diablo / Diablo 2, but a little less annoying. Also lacks Diablo 2's ambience.
