After some nice talking with my girlfriend and some Vin de Pays on the balcony, watching the sun go down and feeling the warm air... (ok, I am going to stop this now and behave like a news guy again *g*): Player of Games offers us a Project Entropia Q&A with Frank Campbell, Public Relations Representative for MindArk AB, about their upcoming MMORPG. Here's a bit:
So you don’t have to buy this game in order to use it, but you guys make cash from trading in the game, how does that work?
Indeed the client software is free and may be downloaded from any of our download sites: http://www.project-entropia.com/download.asp
There are no monthly fees either. This allows anybody with a computer and an Internet connection to visit Calypso, travel around and meet colonists from every corner of the world. Through a fantastic start-up screen you can decide exactly how your avatar will look. Height, eye color, skin color, mouth and nose size are just a few of the variables we have included to ensure that every colonist can create a unique avatar that can be easily recognized on sight.
If you wish to develop your character further, you may choose to buy a weapon and go hunting in the wilderness, or buy the tools needed to go mining. The minerals and ore found through mining for example, may be used to craft weapons or armor, or even sold at trade terminals.
In order to purchase items you must deposit money from a real life credit card into your in-world account. The exchange rate is 10 PED (Project Entropia Dollars) = 1 US $. Once you access the banking function inside Project Entropia there are full instructions to safely complete any transaction. Any monies made in the world through loot found on creatures or items sold may then be withdrawn back into your real world account as real life cash. As well as the selling and the repair of items we also take a small commission when participants withdraw money from Project Entropia. |
