Well, this is the last day of 2002, and I thought I could share some statistical data about the site with you.

This year, we posted 8232 newsbits so far, app. 23 newsbits per day. Once again, we didn't miss a single news day (we never did since we started the site back in 1999). All in all our server pushed out more than 3000 gigabytes of data.

From the features we posted, the Morrowind Review got the most hits, followed by our Report from E3, the Morrowind Preview and the Gothic FAQ. Also high on the list: The Lionheart SPECIAL features, the Divine Divinity review and the Gothic 2 developer reports.

Which games were looked up most in our database? The surprise winner is Dungeon Siege, followed by Morrowind, Divine Divinity, Gothic 2 and Arx Fatalis. Next are Gothic, Neverwinter Nights, Lionheart, Icewind Dale 2 and (surprise) Ultima 7.

The most wanted support files were those for Arx Fatalis, followed by Gothic and Divine Divinity. All in all, the Arx Fatalis Walkthrough scored nearly 350.000 hits in less than 2 months.

How did our readers rate the games? The best RPG of all times, according to our readers, is Ultima 7 (both parts). The runner ups are: Arx Fatalis, Fallout, Wizardry 7, Gothic 2, Planescape: Torment, Divine Divinity, Fallout 2 and Baldur's Gate 2. Three games of 2002 made it into the top 10, one more into the top 15 (Morrowind as 13th). The lowest entry for 2002 with more than 20 votes is Might & Magic 9, being on rank 272. Please note that this isn't the voting for RPG of the year 2002, but our all time list. The RPGDot awards for 2002 will be published in January.

Enough looking back now - lets look forward to 2003. While I fear we won't see as many RPGs to be released as this year, it will be certainly an interesting year for RPG fans. And as things evolve, RPGDot will continue to report news, feed you with articles, insights and everything you want to know about your and our favorite genre.

We thank our readers who made and make this site special. We thank the developers for being reliable and friendly partners of RPGDot. We thank the publishers for supporting us with material and information. And I want to thank the rest of the staff on the site and the forums for giving their hearts and souls for the community. I know that it isn't always fun to sit in front of your computer and work on the site. I know what your girlfriends, wives, husbands, partners went through on certain days, when the server broke down and emergency calls disregarded normal sleeping hours. I know how hard it is to keep RPGDot in mind when your real life becomes nasty and a pain. I thank you for being there, for being friends.
