RPGVault has asked this question to the development team of Lionheart: "One of the features of the SPECIAL character system is that every few levels, characters can choose bonuses called perks. Based on the way you enjoy playing, what are a couple of your favorites?" - and they answered it in a Q&A to be found there. Here's the answer of Designer Bryce Baker:
I'm partial to Displacement and Die Hard. These are both perks that kick in when you're seriously injured. Displacement makes you harder to hit and more agile, while Die Hard buffs up your resistances and armor class. Close fights are close to the heart of fun in RPGs; what's more fun than a close, tense fight where victory or death is on a knife edge? That's drama! So I Iike abilities that encourage me to stay in situations like that and tough it out.
