Back in Aleroth

A Killing

Poor George

When you've talked to Mardaneus, pay a visit to George. Unfortunately for him things are not looking so great.
Someone decided that his life must come to an end and so George lies flat on his back. Next to George's body lies a key. This key opens the door at the back of the house. For that you will have to go around the house and press the ALT key in order to highlight the door. This gives you access to the room, but if you already went through it before then there is not much left to do there.

Go to Mardaneus (who will reward you if you find out who did it) and the others to find out if they know more. Unfortunately they don't so the answer must lie outside the village (This quest can NOT be solved in the demo version).

An Escort
When you've done what you wanted to do here then let's leave the village of Aleroth (go south for that). When you go through the gates an ingame movie will play showing you some soldiers fighting with orcs and one knight doing the same (with the difference that he wins).

Lord Seth

When he is finished with the orcs he approaches you and tells you to get back inside the gates. When you do that he follows you and tells you that the healers are needed in Rivertown to help with the plague. He will also tell you that he and his soldiers are guarding Aleroth and try to make sure that the orcs do not invade the village. He will also give some more info about the plague.

After you've heard enough, go back to Mardaneus who agrees on sending some healers if they are escorted properly. But when you meet with Lord Seth again he will tell you that he can not guarantee their safety and that it is your job to go to general Alix to ask for an escort. He will also tell you where to find the general (in a stronghold south of Stormfist Castle) and marks the spot on your map. So off you go on another quest (which you can not solve in the demo).

South of Aleroth

The South
You can explore the woods surrounding Aleroth, before you go on your quests (or the end of the demo). One thing you will find plenty here are Orcs so take care of where you are going. When you follow the road going south, you'll suddenly notice piles of gold leading east. I'm sure you know better than to think they are left here just like that, but I'm also sure you can't resist taking the gold, so let's pick it up and see where it leads.

It leads to a trap. A trap with a whole bunch of orcs trying to get you flat on your back. Of course the gold is worth it so make your best of it and try to kill them all, or run away.

When you haven't had enough yet from fighting then go to the southwest from where the trap was set. This will lead you to the orc camp, the same camp you would have reached when you went up there from the first level of the catacombs. As such there is also a cave here leading to that first level and there are a whole bunch of orcs of course.

But as you fight a lot you gain gold and items also, although you can not sell anything big in Aleroth as nobody has any money. But you will find somebody later on in the game (not the demo).
