BioWare's Trent Oster took the opportunity at the current Games Developer Conference to hint (GameStar - article is in German) at 'Neverwinter Nights II' which they are probably going to announce at E3 in May. Bad news regarding the sequel are possible limitations as far as multiplayer modes are concerned and that BioWare seems to be planning on providing more limited editors for the game. Reasons: Development and testing of the level editors for NWN sucked up about US$ 2.5 million, about 25% of the total budget. Oster is quoted as saying: "We believe that the investment paid off as far as NWN is concerned but will have to evaluate whether we want to do the same in regards to NWN2." (please note that GameStar has translated Oster's comment from English to German and that my translation attempt back to English leaves a whole lot of room for failure *g*). | Source: NW Vault |
