RPG Vault has added the ninth installment in their ongoing Morrowind Developer Q&A Feature; this time, the developers tell us about Characters & Playing Styles - here's Lead Designer's Ken Rolston answer:

Jonric: When Morrowind is done and you finally have the chance to play though the release version for the first time, what kind of character and playing style will you use, and why?

Ken Rolston: Nord Scout or Archer, with preference for Archer. Built for speed, because I'm a surface world tourist, and I love exterior pathfinding and terrain combat puzzles. I also prefer to run around or past trouble first. I only fight after I've scouted a location, or found a choke point where I have to fight to advance. Nords are big and fast, my kind of fighter. Both Scout and Archer are fine 'agility' fighters; i.e., light mobile fighters rather than tanks in Maximillian plate. I lean towards the Archer for his Marksmanship and ranged combat potential, but the Scout has Stealth instead of Marksmanship, and that skill may turn out to be more useful and dramatic in the long run. Neither have any spell capacity at all; my one customization of either class might be to replace Block (shield-use skill) with Restoration for healing and buffs - probably a more efficient combo in the long run, but slower advancement at low levels. But at present, I like the shield animations and sounds so much that I forego the healing magic.
