By the following press release we were informed, that Arxel Tribe's Mistmare will be released on march 7th:
MINDSCAPE ENTERS THE FOG OF WAR

Mindscape are pleased to announce the release of Mistmare on 7 March 2003 for PC CD-ROM. Developed by Arxel Tribe, the gameplay in Mistmare is an immersive mixture of action, adventuring and RPG elements as you lead Isador, the inquisitor monk, on an epic journey through an alternative Europe ravaged by years of conflict.

In a parallel dimension, the history of the world has taken an evil turn. The populace, under the guidance of the all-powerful Roman Church have neglected the sciences and reverted to spell-casting and magic. A thousand years before, the sorceror priests, whilst dabbling in the occult, spawned an evil mist that spread over the earth, devouring everything in its path. Now, the year is 1996, and only a few cities survive as scattered beacons of light in a dark world. Their survival depends on enchanted bells that ring out incessantly from their cathedrals to repel the evil forces.

The inquisition has assigned Isador to a manhunt case that will take him to the last cities in Europe, and as his quest unfolds, you will discover the secret that lies behind the evil mist.

The development of Isador's character attributes depends on relative focus in Solar, lunar and terran spheres that influence his strength, health and willpower, as well as adventuring skill and his proficiency in certain schools of combat, such as Oriental, Norse and Barbaric. You must carefully explore each city and learn through character interaction, training and interrogation. Locks can be picked and chests raided, beaten opponents have weapons that can be added to your inventory.

Spell-cast and battle your way past thieves, mafia figures and over 35 nightmarish monsters. You can use your liturgical and alchemic spells to trap them to pit them against other creatures to save your stamina.

Based on the Lithtech 3.2 engine, Mistmare's highly detailed character models, dynamic lighting and reflection mapping combine together to provide an impressive gaming world.
