Planet Dungeon Siege has done an interview with Salanthalas Quel’thas aka Jared Ellsworth, Lead Composer for this ambitious remake of the classic, using the Dungeon Siege Engine. Here's a snip:

PDS: How is the music being created?

Being that Lazarus is a non-profit project, we were unable to hire an orchestra, which is what we had initially hoped for. Therefore all music is being sequenced electronically using various electronic keyboards, synths, modules, and sampled instruments. We are also exploring the option to include some real instruments in the mix.

PDS: What kind of software is being used to compile the score?

The music is sequenced using Twelve Tone System’s Cakewalk software. Final recording and mix down will be done using DigiDesign’s Pro Tools.
