so underestimated, a real gem. It's been years and I still think of this game with great warmth. |
Baldur's Gate: 7/10 points |
It helped to revive the CRPG genre, but just didn't work for me. Nice graphics and sound, but the gameplay and the story telling was bit weak. Lots to explore, but there wasn't really much to do. But then again the engine was great, and the sequel was way better game than the BG1, and the same engine was used in Planescape Tornment one of my all time favourite CRPGs. so BG was not a bad game at all :) |
Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 10/10 points |
Fantastic CRPG. Huge world with lots to do and many places to explore. One of the best games I have played. |
Black Mirror: 9/10 points |
Very good adventure. Nice atmosphere, interesting story, and very working gameplay mechanisms. Ending maybe was bit too rushed.. but good overall feelings nevertheless.. |
Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 7/10 points |
Pretty good game with open world, great graphics and visual effects. Weak story telling and horrible dialogue system kept me from enjoying it fully. |
Jagged Alliance 2: 10/10 points |
Right there with Ufo: enemy unknown. The cream of tactical combat! and in addition with a little RPG flavour just to spice things up a bit. |
Planescape: Torment: 10/10 points |
A classic! this must be one of the best CRPGs I have played. Great gameplay, atmosphere, story, music and graphics. just love it! |
System Shock 2: 10/10 points |
Incredible game, this is the way to do a action game! Beats the hell out of stupid first person shoot'em ups. You have the story, you have the athmosphere, killer rpg elements, and real interaction! I loved every second of it! |
Thief: Deadly Shadows: 10/10 points |
After the demo I had mixed feelings - graphics were very good, but the game felt nothing special, too much of the same as the previous 2 titles. So time went past, and after year from the release I noticed the game in a bargain bin, and I thought what the hell, let's give it try! and I'm very glad I did.
This time the story and the atmosphere of the Thief really got to me! It ties all the games nicely together and is a very good closing for the trilogue. Although the game is pretty much the same as the previous titles, it has better graphics, topnotch sound, and in my book far better told story than the previous titles. Only minus is the loading times, between "levels", but it's not too bad. I recommend to give a thief - deadly shadows a try! |
