GameSpot's RPG wiz Desslock has updated his site after a long silence with a review of Morrowind and some E3 reports. There is no score but Desslock seems to be very pleased with what Morrowind has to offer.
Here's a bit:There are hundreds of unique 3D modeled objects, and plants, decorating homes and giving the landscape more character, making the world consistently rewarding to explore. In addition to the main quest, you can embark upon campaigns to assist character class guilds, native ruling houses, Imperial interests or local religious beliefs, as well as a couple of different vampire dens - more than a dozen in all, and there are additional opportunistic quests that you can opt to complete as well. There are also dozens of additional caves, submerged shipwrecks and grottos, ancient ruins, bandit and slaver camps and tombs that are optional excursions. There are hundreds and hundreds of hours of activities, aside from the relatively brief, but interesting main plot. Morrowind provides the expansive world of a massively multiplayer online game, but also provides an involving plot, more detailed quests and more rapid character development. |
