There's a review of Savage Eden over at Just RPG. The author has some mixed feelings with the score ultimately coming out at 65%:Savage Eden from iEntertainment Network (iEN) left me in a similar quandary. Originally a Korean game titled Laghaim (the Euro version of the game is Biosfear), Savage Eden is colorful, smooth, and just like the sign says - "action packed" - which tempts one to put it in the basket with Diablo, except it's more than that. There isn't any camping to speak of - monsters spawn too fast and too frequently, there's no downtime and the loot drops are good. Socialization is limited by the rudimentary chat system and, if you're playing the Euro version, the many languages being used in the game. It's sci-fi, billed as "post-apocalyptic" and has an Oriental feel to it, but the game's technology is counter-balanced by magic and swords and plate armor. Oh, niche, wherefore art thou? |
