Seems that Gothic is picking up a lot of attention from other game sites now - the next one to preview Gothic is Intelgamer. The preview is quite enthusiastic, as you can see from this snippit:

enjoyed tremendously playing this game. It reminded me in ways of Ultima Online, where you have to work at a skill to gain it. You gain prestige with those in power by completing certain tasks…these tasks also level you and allow you to gain vital survival skills. You have to think quickly, act carefully, and SAVE OFTEN. The communication menus are not cut and dried, as some of the information you will receive is worthless. Choose wisely what you ask, or you may find yourself ticking off the wrong characters, which can lead to a harder game. The NPC’s remember what you have asked and can get irritated with being asked the same question too many times.

BTW - for all your Gothic needs, you can visit our very own GothicDot (gothic.rpgdot.com), which will officially go online tomorrow - so this is still an unofficial link *g*.
