Five years ago, a little video game studio in Westwood, Mass. changed the lives of thousands of gamers forever. On Nov. 1, 1999, players were transported to an original colorful persistent 3D world – where they met new friends, shared remarkable adventures and lost a lot of sleep. Looking back to the birth of Asheron’s Call, it might seem amazing that Turbine Entertainment Software not only created the world of Dereth, but has continued to keep it going with a vibrant and dedicated community.
