Jumping the gun just a little, eToychest has slapped up a review of BG: Dark Alliance 2 for the Xbox with a score of 4/5:
Another facet of this game that truly stands out is the method by which it handles magic item creation. Instead of the first game's randomly generated method of dropping magic items at the character's feet, Dark Alliance II allows the player to actually create their own magical items according to their own design. Given the proper materials (stones, gems, and the like), a player can customize their their weapons (given they are of sufficient quality) so they can have that +5 vorpal flaming dagger of giant slaying they have always dreamed of. These materials can be bought, though the more powerful and rare materials used to make the more potent weapons and armor are often littered in the game's many creature infested dungeons. So tread softly, and carry a big stick.
