RPG Vault is giving us a status update on Smiling Gator's post-apo MMORPG in this first peek at their site.
Established by an escaped gladiator-slave who brought together scattered bands of his brethren, the Brotherhood of Mutants is now a powerful force in what was once Southern California. Its members consider themselves the true inheritors of Terranu, the Changed Earth. While their philosophy doesn't view humans as universal enemies, most members feel that way implicitly, which reinforces a long-standing mutual distrust. Making up for technological shortfalls through natural abilities and ferocity, the coalition has fended off incursions by slavers like the Hell Riders and Vagans, and held its own against the more scientifically advanced Silics in heated clashes over resources.

Twilight War: After the Fall is a post-apocalyptic massively multiplayer project in which a key element is the complex web of alliances and hostilities the ensnares these and other organizations. In development by the team at Florida-based Smiling Gator Productions, it attracted a good bit of attention last September when it was revealed the company had licensed the vaunted Source engine technology to deliver the graphical aspects of its action-oriented experience. Soon thereafter, we learned a lot in a lengthy interview, but hadn't very heard much at all since then. Fortunately, we were able to obtain this illustrated progress report.
