EBGames has an interview with Pro Sotos from Strategy First on their upcoming Disciples 2. Here's something about the races and the RPG elements in the game:
>Have there been any changes to the races?
Q: Each of the upgrade branches in the four playable races has been increased. So there are now almost 40 units in each of the four playable races. Also once the last upgrade structure in a path has been built for a unit, the unit can upgrade automatically, which saves you resources and makes the shorter path a lot more attractive than it was in the first game.
We’ve also arranged all the semi-playable races into specific races. For instance, there is a race called the Dragons, a race called the Elves and so on. Now each unit in the game can gain experience and all the neutral parties can move.
Q: The leader characters add an RPG element not found in most strategy games. Have you made any significant changes to the way in which leaders develop and affect gameplay?
In Disciples II, leaders have something we call a paper-doll interface. The paper-doll interface represents items they can equip themselves with. There are seven slots where items can be placed, and two of these are battle items. As you gain experience and move up levels you are prompted to choose from a list of new attributes. Also, leaders can now upgrade to level 99. |
