GameSpy talks to Blizzard's Tom Chilton at E3 about 'World of Warcraft' and PvP:Blizzard found itself in an unusual situation at this year's E3. The biggest title it was showing has already been in release for over half a year and it's so enormously popular that every move they make is grist for an overheated rumor mill.
That's why anyone who's following the saga of World of Warcraft is already aware that the latest addition to the game, the long-awaited Battlegrounds PvP zones have just hit the game's test servers and, sure enough, the new section they were showing off on the show floor was an ongoing battle between Horde and Alliance in Warsong Gulch, one of the new Battleground zones. Rather than re-hash information that's already available, then, we decided to take advantage of the E3 opportunity and go a little more in-depth with a key member of the World of Warcraft team, Tom Chilton, Blizzard's PvP guru, and talk about the introduction of formalized PvP into the game, how it's going so far, and where it might be going in the future. Read it here. |
