Arx Fatalis Element of the Week 10
Arx Fatalis is an RPG developed by Arkane Studios. It offers a number of interactions with objects and NPCs, realistic action fights, a unique real time spell casting system, character creation, dialogues, puzzles, exploration in an underground atmospheric world with various Cities inhabited by several races, galleries, dungeons and mines all intertwined by an unexpected epic plot.
We will bring you this Arx Fatalis Element of the week in collaboration with publisher Fishtank. This time
we feature the Harm Spell.
The Harm Spell
The Harm spell is an excellent way to get rid of an enemy who approaches you. It's also extremely useful as protection against attacks at close range. When you cast this spell, some kind of magical barrier will surround you. Everyone who gets in touch with it, will get hurt permanently until he steps back, flees or dies. Even bigger opponents like this poor Troll seen on the screenshots can't resist the power of this spell. Like the Flying Eye-spell, the Harm spell draws an small amount of mana permanently until the player runs out of his magical resource or deactivates the spell. Needless to say, this spell is also very effective when fighting more than one enemy at once.
Today's Screenshots feature the already
mentioned Troll, who does not decide to step back and so dies
from the spell's effects; you might want to download the screens
and watch them quickly in a row to get a more movielike
experience:
