City of Villains has been reviewed at ComputerGames.ro, with a score of 83%:Although from a technical standpoint it’s definitely not state of the art (this will change with the release of the 7th update, called Destiny’s Manifest) the visual style and overall artistic look of the Rogue Isles are spot on. Although some areas have a more urban feel to them than others, the sense that you’re in a devastated world, where the law of the jungle is above all others, is ever present. In Mercy Island for instance, once you leave the relatively safe confines of the Arachnos base, you’ll find a haunting and chaotic city, unlike the nice, orderly streets from Paragon City. Besides the creepy and haunting feel of the Rogue Isles, there are all sorts of adverts that will surely steal a smile or two (Hangman’s Pub, Skeleton’s Closet Locksmith) and those bravo enough to walk through the streets will talk about your latest evil deed or that of other players, which creates a very organic and credible feel for the world you’re in. What’s the point in being a super-villain if no one knows how cool and mean you are? |
