The last interview at FileFront today is with Toby Ragaini from Monolith about 'The Matrix Online'. Here's a sample:
Q: What's the basic gameplay of the Matrix Online structured like? Is it a typical MMORPG or are you going to be taking some new twists on the idea?

A: Most MMOs are like amusement park rides. Yes, they are fun and exciting the first few times, but eventually doing the same thing over and over gets boring. Part of why they get boring is that nothing ever changes. Everyone saves the princess, rescues the villagers and kills the dragon.

The Matrix Online is based on the premise that the Matrix is a changing and evolving place with characters and story that progresses on an episodic basis. Unlike most static MMO environments, each player will have a chance to play a role in the ongoing story. And when those events are concluded, they will never appear in the game again. This is important, because this allows MxO to have a true sense of history.
