Phew, this is a busy sunday - can't remember a similar one for a year or so :-). Anyhow, there's a review of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance to report at GameSpy. Here's a bit:
There are a few minor flaws in gameplay mechanics that allow you to get away with cheap tactics. The enemy AI isn't always sharp. Sometimes enemies will flank you, making it difficult to attack and defend. Other times they'll just stand there as if they don't see you, making it easy to pelt them with projectile attacks. Doors are also a problem for monsters. You can see an enemy on the other side of the door and nail him with area attacks like meteor storm. The only thing he can do is stand there and take it. We definitely employed our share of cheap tickets, but how much this bothers you depends on how pure you want your experience to be.
Final rating for the game is 94/100 - another very positive one (for others, check our "at a glance"-page) |
