The Necromancer is a Cleric possessing immense knowledge and power centered around death and the afterlife. Do not be fooled, however; not all Necromancers are the dark, malevolent cultists of legend! Whether a Necromancer uses his spectral abilities in a benevolent manner, such as contacting a village's ancestors to request guidance and wisdom, or uses them to breed terror by raising an army of ghastly undead, the decision lies in the application of his powers, not necessarily in the powers themselves. In the past, many of those with this great power over life and death have used that power to forge dark pacts with evil, performing loathsome rituals in the depths of their dark cathedrals, but it has always been believed that a new, more civilized order of Necromancers may someday emerge. The Necromancer's abilities allow him great control, but always at a price, often requiring him to give of his own body or soul in exchange for the effects he desires.
