It's pretty hard to dig up a newsbit today, but hey, I found one: Tech TV has written a review of Earth & Beyond. They rate it 4/5, and they note that there is little roleplaying in the game. Here's their conclusion:
Despite the absence of much role-playing, or perhaps because of it, Westwood has created a game that is quite a lot of fun to play. In fact, it's one of the few MMORPGs that is enjoyable even if you choose not to interact with any other players. There are plenty of missions available to keep you occupied and an interesting story to follow. The graphics are gorgeous and you can focus your gameplay on combat, exploration, or commerce to suit your own interests. E&B manages for the most part to avoid being an experience point hunt as development in combat, trade, and exploration flow naturally out of basic gameplay. Maneuvering through space, delivering cargo, and fending off enemies are all made enjoyable by the well-designed interface and always-engaging visuals. |
