We're thrilled to announce that 'AVATARS OFFLINE', the first full-length documentary on the MMORPG phenomenon, is now available for purchase on DVD exclusively at www.avatarsoffline.com. The DVD version includes both the 75 minute documentary plus and an *additional* 75 minutes of extra footage not seen previously. After two years of production, the film premiered at this year's Game Developers Conference in San Jose. It chronicles the past, present and future of the MMORPG genre through interviews with avid fans, self-confessed addicts, developers, scholars and vocal critics. Not merely satisfied with the simplistic mainstream media approach to 'games', the film approaches MMORPGS as an evocative art form with both great promise and undeniable dangers.
