IGN.PC has conducted an interview with VR-1 lead designer Keith Baker and executive producer John Blakely about their MMORPG Lost Continents. Here's something:

IGNPC: Can you start out with the basic premise of the overall story?

Keith Baker: Basically the there are mysterious and mythological things that are coming to life, and you are a part of this adventurous community that are a part of it. You have been brought into Africa to check out what's going on. There are also six main groups that are present cooking up their own schemes about how to use or stop the things that are happening. These are sort of classic groups each that have their own master plans playing out like you might have seen in those pulp movies set in the 30's.

IGNPC: This is a little different than most MMORPGs in that you have a personal storyline.

Keith Baker: The basic idea of the game is that it focuses on you, so the basic idea is that, depending on what you do, you'll get involved in one or more of these stories which will become the center of your storyline. So rather than saying there's one story that drives the game as a whole, really for you it's going to depend on what you get involved in.
