At Electric Playground and Gamesmania; you can find a review of Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction. Since they are written by the same person, the are quite the same, and both are quite positive. 90% is the rating for the game on both sites.

The new areas are based mostly around a snowy mountain theme, and they look great. In fact, I’d have to say that artistically, the frozen cliffs and cold caverns are some of the best-looking environments in the game. From a gameplay perspective, I really enjoyed the areas that were set up like a battlefield, with trenches, barricades and towers (you can even smash down some doors, walls, and towers). There were functioning catapults to destroy. There were even other soldiers on my side--AI controlled Barbarians that I could help out. These maps made me feel like I was participating in a battle in a more personal way.
