Digital Entertainment News also has a 'Guild Wars' game diary of sorts titled War is Hell. The article contains a spoiler warning, so be warned!:
On the final day of the February beta test, I decided to break off from my group of fellow DEN staffers and explore an option we’d all been avoiding, because, quite frankly, it sounded boring. When you enter Ascalon City, one of the first things you come across is the option to "Enter the Academy" for training. Of course, you can’t do that right away. There are a couple quests to complete first, and once you do that, you are warned that you need to be at least Level 3 to be admitted. You’re also warned that, “once you enter the academy, your life will not be your own and you will not see your friends again for quite some time.” Standard atmospheric dialog, right? Not in Guild Wars.
