Matt Firor, producer of Dark Age of Camelot just updated the Herald with some new information about the upcoming Player Housing in DAoC. It has been almost a year since the feature was originally announced, but the team has made quite some progress during that time. They completely revamped the system, made new models and even designed a new zone for every realm to cover the demand of houses. Here's a little snip: This zone will contain a series of small villages of houses, connected by roads, with stables and horse routes to make navigation easier. We've decided to go with the separate housing zone idea to reduce the impact of having houses litter the landscape of the different Realms. We can expand the housing zones based on player demand for housing.
Players will be able to tint parts of the exterior of the house and choose different door types, and other features to distinguish their house from others. On the interior, there will be furniture, wall hangings, and other items that can be purchased and placed. We've had our artists hard at work on pumping out a lot of different items that can be purchased to decorate a player house.
Testing is scheduled to begin within six weeks from now, but be sure to check out the screenshots included in the update while you wait.
Earlier today, Sanya posted word that the new hardware for the Lancelot server has arrived, which should solve that lag issues it had been suffering from lately. |
