Gamespy offers a preview of Dungeons & Dragons Heroes for XBox as well, taking a closer look at this action RPG that is somewhat similar to Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Here's something:
Based upon the third edition of the Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook, Heroes includes the four basic character classes, including fighter, cleric, wizard, and rogue. To avoid the early stages of the game being too dull, your character will begin at the fourth or fifth level and with two basic moves. As your character defeats enemies and gains experience points new moves will be made available in accordance with traditional D&D rules. Attacks can then be bound to the X, Y, and B buttons of the Xbox controller on the fly by holding in the R shoulder button and using the right analog stick to cycle through the available attacks. Applying some timing to your melee attacks will allow your character to perform simple combos. Attacks can also be powered-up by holding down the button and then releasing it. |
